Death Penalty & Christian Morality – Dr Tobias Winright

At his Sunday Angelus address on the 21st February, Pope Francis said that β€œall Christians and people of good will are called today to work not only for the abolition of the death penalty,” but also to improve conditions in prisons, out of respect for the human dignity of prisoners. Dr Tobias Winright, Associate Professor of Theological Ethics at Saint Louis University, shares with Wendy, his views on this call of the Pope and the morality of the death penalty from the perspective of Christian theology (and in particular Catholic theology).
