Cormac Staunton- TASC Inequality Report

Ireland is now the most unequal country in the EU when it comes to how the economy distributes income (before taxes and social welfare payments are included), according to a new report.

The report ‘Cherishing All Equally: Economic Inequality in Ireland’ was put together by the Think-tank for Action on Social Change (Tasc), and it says national income share has shifted in favour of the very wealthy over recent decades with the bottom 90% of the population losing out significantly.

This growing inequality could have grave consequences for Irish society and the economy over the coming years.

Policy Analyst for Tasc, Cormac Staunton spoke to Wendy about the findings of the report
