Clothed With Christ | Simon Watkinson

Simon depicts two ways of living from Colossians 3 as two outfits we're invited to choose between. And then he shows us how to live into that with more than willpower alone, by rooting ourselves in Jesus and remembering what is true of us when we're united with him. Finally, we see how God wants us to live, doing everything we do for his glory, giving us purpose and direction. We hope this blesses you — let us know how by email or social media! Jesus + Nothing = Everything | Simon Watkinson

Simon, our Vicar, kicks off our new series in Colossians, 'Supreme', by introducing the book and its key themes, and then taking us through the first section. It's also an invitation to make him supreme over our lives, dethroning anything that's not him in order to step into fullness of life when he, and he alone, is Lord. The first section shows us Paul's primary prayer, that they (and we) would know God and ...

Cast The Net Wide | Simon Watkinson

On St Peter's day, marking the 150th anniversary of our church building being consecrated to God's glory, Simon focuses in on the life and ministry of Peter. Jesus transformed Peter's life by commissioning this fisher as a fisher of people, and Simon calls us to pick up that same mandate today. Our prayer is that this would bless you, and show you how Jesus is calling out to you. If we can be of help in any way, please get in touch! Email: hello@stpetersbury.church Socials: @stpetersbury

Living With The End In Mind | Simon Watkinson

Speaking from Revelation 4, Simon speaks about the end of the Christian story, and how that affects our here and now. The end isn't about extraction from earth, but heaven and earth becoming one — "God's people don't move out, God moves in." In heaven we see beauty, purity, and worship, so how could we each bring those things more and more to earth, to Bury, now? We' d love to hear your thoughts!
