Dating and Living in Midlife and Beyond

with Junie Moon

(Season 3 | Episode 114)

[TESSA] Junie Moon has had one interesting journey so far. Marriage. Monogamy. An evolving relationship with options open. A Child. The early emptying of the nest and then a divorce. And then… Open Nesting and all that comes with that. All the possibilities.

Junie and I focus on ‘midlife,’ that time over 40 when the kids are gone. The operative word is “REBOOT.” The rebooting of our lives. In Junie’s own words, “It’s a little bit of a mind-fuck.” That ‘now what?’

Junie’s answer to this big question was to create a practice and business and podcast geared toward working with women (and men) to help them put their demons (which she refers to as shadows) to rest.

We consider these questions and a lot more with our guest this week, June Moon.

About Junie

In my second half of life…

I’ve experienced what I call Next Level Love. A sacred partnership where I could be my true self and feel supported. I’ve been able to fully relax and be met heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul, where I didn’t have to compromise the most important things to me.

But once upon a time…

I was married to a very selfish man with a spicy temper. I stayed in that relationship for 20 years! I was scared to make waves so I walked on eggshells, afraid to stand up for myself or ask for my needs to be met. I had knots in my stomach on a regular basis. I ate so much in an attempt to self-soothe that I ended up at my highest weight ever: 200 pounds. I was miserable.

I tried for years to make it work. I hoped for healing. I pleaded with him to get the support we needed, but he wasn’t having any of it. He said I was the problem and wouldn’t take any responsibility. With that, I finally left him.

Getting support and being willing to do this deeper work allowed me to heal the past and create a new life full of Next Level Love.

Midnight Love Out Loud with Love Coach Junie Moon

What’s the difference between an Empty Nester and Open Nester? This is an easy one. It’s the energy behind the words. Empty tends to have negative meanings connected to sadness and maybe even grief.

Open Nester means to Open to the areas between black, white in all areas in your life. It’s about looking at life in new ways. And there are so many possibilities to adventure, newness, and even sadness or grief when we are open to life. Listen in as Tess Krone shares all about being open in midlife and how to lead life with curiosity instead of right and wrong, good and bad.
